EurAmer Interview

When did you start sewing/creating your clothing/accesories and why?

Its a funny yet nice story..when I was 6 I had a neighbor that had her own tailor business. I wanted her to show me how to sew...but she was always busy. So instead of me standing around I just went in and started out by doing the things that I can help her with. Cleaning, measuring..and so she had more time to show me. I was on and off with her till the day she passed. I didn't handle a death at that time in a positive way being I was 8 so I stopped sewing. Then when I entered highschool I started again, however the projects were so bad that I had lost interest again. So now 3 years ago I got the itch when I wanted to create a bedroom set to my soon to be though would be a little girl...well I have a boy love him and did not create anything...really don't know why however I went to school for fashion and sewing in 2006 and when I finished I had the choice to continue schooling in Italy or open up my own business...I chose business.

Interview with Bubbly Toes

When did you start sewing/creating your clothing/accesories and why? When did you start selling on ebay?

I started sewing when I was a little girl. I loved dressing my baby and barbie dolls. It's funny how it all started out because I was 3 years old and at my grandmas house. I used kleenex and tape to make my first creations lol. Then I started getting into my moms fabrics and lace when I was around 8. I took one her old sewing machines and put it in my room. I started making blankets for my Barbies to cover their water beds made out of ziplock bags. When I stopped making stuff for my dolls I ended up with the job of hemming my dads jeans. Then when I was 17 I started making doll clothes for my little sisters dolls, made a few pairs of shorts, and a dress for her. We actually saved these and BOY are they horrible looking lol. But I didn't give up and when I had my daughter Hannah almost 7 years ago I started making her dresses. It was ALL over once I found eBay! I kept seeing these adorable overalls with appliques. I never knew how to applique so I looked at how scrapbookers to the paper piecing and figured I could do it with fabric. Then I asked the girls at the sewing counter how to make the fabric "iron on". My mom who was a seamstress showed me the zig zag on the sewing machine and I was on my way. I started doing little applique overalls and listing them on ebay and it just took off from there. I grew and evolved and started making jeans, tee shirts, jumpers, ect.

I started selling my designs on ebay about 6 years ago. Hannah was nearly one year old and she modeled my first pair of overalls.

What is your favorite design- photo- and why?

Hmmm it's hard to pick my favorite design. I have lots of favorites, but the one I really felt accomplished on is my Aladdin set. Just something about the colors, charcters, and coins. Although if I am thinking girly cute it would be my Snow White dress LOL. And if I am thinking brother and sister sets it would be my Pirate sets. For sisters sets it would be Alice in Wonderland. See I cannot pick a favorite! LOL

What do you enjoy doing other than sewing/creating your designs?

Other than sewing I love music. I play it while I am sewing. So it's like doing 3 things at once, listening, sewing, and singing. It puts a special touch into my hands. I also practice Tae Kwon Do where I am currently a green belt. It's really a lot of fun and it's amzing the skill you learn. I have developed some "cat like" reflexes I never knew I had LOL But most of all I love being a mom and wife, I always dreamed of it and I have everything I ever wanted.

Interview with Glass Slipper Boutique

When did you start sewing/creating your clothing/accesories and why? When did you start selling on ebay?

I started designing hair bows about 4 years ago. I LOVED buying bows for my daughter and about the time that she wouldn't wear them anymore is about the time that I started making them! LOL I would walk thru a store that had ribbon and I thought to myself "someday I'm going to start designing my own and sell them!" So I did!
I then had fun learning how to make matching hair gems to go along with the bows. I just recently started making jewelry to match the bows and hair gems.
It's been a fun journey! I've met SO MANY fantastic people on Ebay.
This is the first or one of the first bows I sold on Ebay. It is made to match Gymboree's Fiesta line:

What is your favorite design- photo- and why?

I'm not sure that I have a favorite. There are SO MANY styles that I had so much fun with. But here is one that I really liked and it was a hit with a lot of customers

What do you enjoy doing other than sewing/creating your designs?

I really enjoy exercising/yoga etc. believe it or not! It relaxes me and makes me feel good. But my true joy is playing with the kids or just spending any quality time with the family. Just snuggling on the couch with the entire family watching a movie is my idea of a perfect evening! :0)

What would you like to add?

My absolutely wonderful husband has supported me through all of this even though I barely break even! Constantly trying to find new places to store all of my ribbon supplies and boxes is always a venture. He's been great thur it all. My sweet daughter helps me design many of my hair gems and helps out with my ribbon choices. My family will always come first but I truly enjoy making adorable bows and accessories for all of those divas out there!

Interview with The Fab 5 Bowtique

When did you start sewing/creating your clothing/accesories and why?

I started making bows three years ago when my second to last baby was born and boy were they U*G*L*Y!!! I sure thought they were da bomb though LOL! It was a little over a year ago that I started sewing. My husband was tired of me spending ungodly amoumts of money on customs and demanded that I learn to make them myself! So I did and now my kids are the ones that I don't ever get to sew for and I'm still buying customs LOL!

When did you start selling on ebay?

I started selling on ebay a few years ago. It was a little scarry at first, but now it's going pretty good

The first piece of clothing I sold on ebay was this dress, and I was sooooo thrilled that I even made it LOL!

What is your favorite design- photo- and why?

I just love this skirt set. I don't know if it's the set that I actually love, or just the fabric or pictures, but at any rate I love it!!!

What do you enjoy doing other than sewing/creating your designs?

I am a TV junkie! I DVR just about every trashy reality tv show known to man and stay up late and watch them!!! My favorite show ever though is Deadliest Catch! I could watch those episodes over and over again and still love them : )

What would you like to add?

I'd like to thank my husband for being the best husband in the world. My house is never clean, I don't cook, and although I do sell every now and then, he is my major investor in this venture. I couldn't do it with out him!!!

Bow*Diddly Boutique Interview

When did you start sewing/creating your clothing/accesories and why?

I started creating accessories when my daughter Samantha was about 4. I figured I was paying a TON of money to other people for bows and necklaces, why not learn to make my own!
Soon after I bought my 1st sewing machine... I noticed after awhile of making bows that the real money was in CLOTHES! LOL
I took my 1st sewing lesson and made overalls for Samantha.. everyone in the class was flabbergasted! They had never seen anything like it.. they were all making skirts, tees, etc.
DON'T LAUGH!!

~When did you start selling on ebay?

I started about 5 years ago.

~What was the first thing you sold on ebay? Do you have a photo?

I looked at looked for my 1st pair of bows that I sold on e-bay, I can't FIND them!!

But I do have my highest selling ribbon tee! This tee sold for $68!!

~What is your favorite design and why?

I have LOTS of favorites but I think I like this one as one of my all-time favs. I just love the pictures that's why, it has all the accessories and it just came together. It also describes my life a bit, wild & funky.

AND THIS one got me featured on a blog or 2.

~What do you enjoy doing other than sewing/creating your designs?

I LOOOOVE playing TENNIS!! I play on a doubles team and I play on another team where I play singles. This was my 1st season playing singles and out of 8 matches I only lost one! I was thrilled and my rating went from a 2.5 level to a 3.0 in one season!

I also LOVE watching my kids play sports! My son is a goalie for a select soccer team and my daughter just made the all-star team for Softball. I just love cheering them on!

~What would you like to add?

That I just love what I do and even though it makes my life crazy sometimes trying to fit everything in, I wouldn't change it one bit!
The feeling you get when someone compliments your children's clothes and the look on their face when you say you made it... PRICELESS!
